New Arrivals: Faculty of Engineering

About Faculty

The Engineering Faculty of Atılım University has a unique position among Turkish universities, with its new and popular engineering fields such as mechatronics, manufacturing, software, informatics systems, energy systems and automotive engineering in addition to the existing conventional engineering departments. Altogether there are fourteen departments in the faculty. Having been established in 1997, the faculty, with its relatively large number of departments, a strong and dynamic academic cadre, and modern educational and research facilities, has secured a reputable position in a very short time and now is competing with the famous public universities in Turkey. Among the five faculties of Atılım University, the Engineering Faculty has nearly half of the students and the academic staff of the university.

With its 39650 square meter  indoor space on the university campus, it is the largest faculty of Atılım University.  It also acted as a pioneering institution in Turkey for the establishment of  a Center of Excellence on Metal Forming in 2009. In the faculty, a total of 94 laboratories are utilized for teaching and research.

The Engineering Faculty will continue its attempts to grow in a different direction from other engineering faculties within the frame of the vision of the Atılım University which is to develop as a research university. The Engineering Faculty will continuously start new degreeprograms as needs arise and circumstances allow.

Since 2004, a total of 2658 undergraduate, 231 master of science and 8 PhD students degrees were given. As the medium of instruction at the faculty is English, it assists graduates in finding jobs at national as well as international platforms.

In addition to its regular bachelor’s degree programs, the departments of the Faculty provide minor and double-major programs. In conjunction with the Institute of Applied and Natural Sciences, the Faculty runs Graduate Master of Science Programs (with or without thesis) and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program on Modelling and Design of Engineering Systems (MODES).
